No Disqualification - Jeff Hardy vs Sammy Guevara
This one is out of nowhere and is a face vs face match. They say Jeff is a childhood idol of Sammy's. Jeff throws something out to the crowd. Jeff slaps Sammy off the handshake, Sammy returns the slap and they hockey fight. Jeff hits corner spears then slams him. Jeff struggles to find a ladder outside then has it dropkicked into him on the apron.
Sammy is thrown into the rails then Jeff flying lariats him off the apron. Jeff stomps Sammy and foot chokes him. Sammy hits a jumping knee on the apron then superkicks him. Sammy top rope M. Bison stomps him on the apron. Jeff is choked with a neckbrace then Sammy is thrown into the rails. Jeff jumps off steps onto Sammy. They both climb a ladder in the ring and trade shots. Jeff hits a twist of fate off the top...for 2.
We go to PiP break and return. Sammy is put on a table. Jeff climbs a ladder but gets hit. They go back into the ring. Sammy puts Jeff's head in a chair then jumps off the 2nd rope with a cutter on Jeff. Jeff is put on a table outside then Sammy swantons him through a table off the top of a very high ladder. Sammy goes for a top rope ssp on the inside and Jeff gets his knees up. Sammy hits a GTH on Jeff and wins it.
I didn't like this at all. There was no need for this to be a no DQ match. It was dangerous and Jeff got legit injured here. They did way too much here with Jeff surviving a swanton through a table and it was nothing but a spotfest. Someone bled here as the ring had a bunch of blood on it.
Hobbs came out and spinebustered Sammy after. Don Callis cheered Hobbs on as he hit a world's strongest slam on Sammy.
Brian Cage and Prince Nana are interviewed. They talk about an upcoming trios match with Hook and RVD. Cage says Hook doesn't belong here and said he doesn't even want to be here. He says he's a fad flavor of the month. He said he's what a real wrestler is and is sick of taking a backseat to him. He said Hook is getting his @ss beat.
Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli do a promo. Mox said they are going to ruin their rep as ambassadors by teaching a lesson to FTR. Mox said you can't fix stupid, but you can choke it. Mox says FTR are the benchmark of great tag team wrestling and says, "you don't think we know tag team wrestling?". He says he can read CC's mind and asks him what he's thinking right now. CC says his wife's chest and says how if you're good, you tell everyone and if you're great, everyone tells you. They said they don't wear stars on their gear and don't care about great matches, they care about results. They said they don't play this, they are. Mox says that's exactly what he was thinking.
Ruby Soho is interviewed by Renee. Saraya and Harley Cameron walk in. They said they forgive her. Ruby says she's not sorry and said she knows Saraya's behind the bad things that happened to her. She said she hopes she was doing this as she thought it was best for her. She said she's a grown woman though and what's best for her is space from her. Harley says she knows what to do and says she will get her with her knife. She pulls out a spoon and Saraya says that's a spoon. Harley then said, "I see you've played knifey spoony before", ripping off a Simpsons line.
Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erich's vs Romero Crews, Hitt and Shimbashi
They say this is the first time the Rhodes and Von Erich's families have teamed up in 40 years.
Dustin and Hitt go at it. Hitt's tights say "get hitt". Dustin drops down and uppercuts Hitt. Dustin drops down and Ross hits a big dropkick. Ross armdrags Shimbashi. The VE's hit a double back elbow. Shimbashi mocks the claw then Dustin takes shots from Crews in the corner. Dustin rusn and hits a cross rhodes on Crews for 2. Shimbashi and Hitt are put in iron claws while Dustin does a spinning neckbreaker for the win.
It was a short squash that was out of nowhere. The VE's were here due to the show being in Texas. It was nice to see The VE's, but I really wish they'd get some better gear that matches.
Renee interviews Toni Storm, Mariah May and Luther. Toni laughs at what Deonna Purrazzo said. She then takes down Mariah, putting her in an armbar and ankle lock, yelling at the camera. She tells May she did a good job and said nobody likes a drama queen, telling Deonna to p!ss off. I have no idea what this was about.
Darby Allin talks about Sting getting attacked. He said he doesn't think The Bucks know what they got into.
Anna Jay vs Queen Aminata
They shill a Queen Aminata interview with Renee prior to this.
They lock up. Anna wristlocks her then Queen reverses it. Quen rubs her butt in Anna's face. Anna trips her and rubs her butt in her face. Queen headlock takeovers her then side headlocks her. Anna forearms her and spin kicks her in the corner.
Anna puts her on the 2nd rope and backcrackers her. We go to PiP break then full break. They trade chest chops and Queen suplexes her. Queen snapmares her and running knees her. Queen hits a forearm in the corner then facewash kicks her in the corner.
Anna side kicks her and flatliners her for 2. Anna goes for a choke but Queen jawbreakers her. Anna then puts another one on and Queen rolls it into a pin. Queen headbutts her down for the win.
That was Queen's first win in AEW and it was a upset. This was fine. Both the girls hit their stuff with no problem and Queen was nice and stiff like usual.
Queen and Anna hug after.
Willow Nightingale, Stokeley Hathaway and Kris Statlander are interviewed. Willow asks what Stokeley interfering was about in her win. Kris said they should have had a team meeting and tries to defend him. Sh said she will make sure this never happens again and Willow wants to shake on it. Stoke does and Kris asks if they are all good here.
Angelo Parker and Ruby Soho talk with Renee. Parker says it's weird to do this on TB and gives her a valentine's day gift. He said she has him feeling things he can't wrap his brain around. He said he thought he thought he lost her and gave her a note, saying that's the only way he can get to her. Ruby asks him if he wants to have a drink next week. They agree and Parker is told to pick her up next Wednesday night.
The Acclaimed, Billy Gunn, The Gunn's and Jay White vs Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Reynolds
The two Jay's lock up. They side headlock each other and headlock takeover each other. Jarrett knees Jay in the back from the apron then Jay chops Uno down twice. Colten splashes Uno in the corner then jumping dropkicks him. Max slams Uno then Bowens 2nd rope legdrops Uno in the nuts. The faces knock the heels off the apron. We go to PiP break and return.
Jarrett russian legsweeps Austin then leg lariats him over the 2nd rope. Jeff does the Fargo strut. Satnam gets in and clubs Austin. Satnam throws Austin across the ring and takes shots at the faces on the apron. Austin hits shots on the hele in the corner and Billy gets the hot tag in. He punches a bunch of people then hits the fameasser on Alex. Uno gives the ref Billy's leg then neckbreakers him. Bowens superkicks Uno then Silver face kicks Bowens. Silver germans Bowens then Max backhands him. The Gunn's stop a Satnam double chokeslam. Lethal hits a lethal injection on Max. Colten hits a colt 45 on Lethal then Jarrett stroke's Colten. Jay hits a bladerunner on Jarrett. Alex rolls up Billy for 2 then takes a 310 to Yuma from Austin and Billy Alex is pinned.
It was fine for what it was but they didn't have enough time for all of the people involved. They maybe had 11 minutes tops and rushed through it.
Overall thoughts: It was okay minus the opener. We got some follow-up on Ruby/Parker, Queen's match was okay and the people in the main did the best they could in the little time they had. I wouldn't recommend it though.
